Ten Smart Enterprise Uses For Twitter The Brainyard Kevin Casey 10/13/2011 Twitter has quickly grown into one of the biggest social networks on the web. A very innovative idea started by Jack Dorsey. The hash tag has been one of the smartest ideas to put into a social network. Just that simple idea has expanded twitter into a world wide open forum. Aside from that there are ten other very useful techniques that someone could use to help their business. If your company is on twitter it has many advantages, you can keep tabs on other companies by searching there company name and see what there competitors are doing. They can also see if they are working on any new ideas or if they are possibly hiring any people. They can also keep tabs on companies trying new ideas. You can also see what people purchasing your product are saying about the product, by searching your own companies hash tag. You can find out how people feel about your company, and what you need to change to make it better. Also you will be able to see what people like about your company and maintain those areas and keep them strong. You can also recruit possible people that are looking for a job in your field. Look them up on twitter and see what they do in their social life and see if they are actually the right person for the job. You can also keep your eye on your own employees. This way you know how they feel about their job, if they like it or not, also if they are bad mouthing the company. You can also see positive trends from your employees and if they are trying to help and make the company grow. Companies can also refer products to people instead of actually trying to sell products, so it seems like you are just telling them to look, and not forcing them to buy anything. This way you make the people feel like they can make their own decision and you aren’t swarming them with information. Another advantage is being able to network with other companies in the same industry to get ideas and expand your own company and make it better. You can also see what other companies products are doing, if they are succeeding or not. You can also improve your company’s social community by adding twitter to the company and have everyone in your company get a twitter. It also helps expand and modernize costumer service. If people have questions or comments they can just post them on twitter. Basically your company should take advantage of twitter and use it has a tool for success within the company.

  1. Jeeze Loix, this is a pretty nice blog. There are a lot of good ideas in there that could really help a business out. With Twitter being the new, biggest social network on the internet, I am surprised more companies are not taking advantage of the benefits the site can offer. It is so simple to use that every company trying to market anything should have one. Not only would it help get a product out into the public by using tweets and hashtags as free advertising, but it can also be used to see what people think about products and for quick and easy customer service. Millions of people use twitter so by creating an account a company could find out a lot about their target consumers just by looking at who follows them. However, I do not agree as much with companies getting twitter in order to “spy” on their employees. I think that there is a certain level of privacy that employees should get from their employers.

  2. Hello Louie, I chose to read your blog post because it seemed very informing and I was right. Your topic is very interesting considering Twitter is the hottest form of social media to this day. Any form of social media could benefit a business, however Twitter as you stated is one of the easiest ways to do so because of the hash tag. It's a sufficient as well as easy way to get a product out on the world wide web or if the company is looking for employees it is easier to find candidates who are right for the job. I also couldn't agree with you more about you saying that companies can also refer products to people instead of actually trying to sell products. This way is seems like the employee is not forcing them to buy anything and customers love that aspect. Overall, I enjoyed reading your blog post and a job well done!
