"A 3-D Printer Created This Shoe"

This video introduces a new type of printer. This invention is not your average printer, though. In fact, it is nothing like any printer you have ever seen before. It is a 3D printer that does not print paper documents, although it probably could. Instead, it prints real three dimensional objects! Everyday objects such as shoes, toys, hearing aids, and cell phone cases can now be made inside your own home with this major advancement in technology. This new printer brings personal manufacturing to you by creating objects one layer at a time until it is done. The new 3D printers will be on sale to the public within the next few week. The printer is to be sold for 1300 dollars, which is relatively cheap for something that is so advanced in technology and can actually save you money by making your own objects that you would otherwise to go the store to buy.
All I can say about this new invention is, wow! It is amazing how far technology has come and what it allows us to do these days. It was only about ten years ago when the first cell phone came out. Now they are creating new technology that could pretty much make a phone right in front of your eyes at home. This new product will enable people to create objects of their own without ever having to go to a store to buy it. It is like having a factory for anything you want inside your house and it is only a little bigger than a normal printer. If this invention is a success, it could completely change the way the economy works. If a 3D printer is in nearly every home, the need for large manufacturing factories will diminish. This could actually be a dangerous thing because it would put a lot of lower to middle class people out of work. It is actually scary how much and how fast technology is advancing. It just makes you wonder what will come next, the possibilities are unlimited and only time will reveal what world changing invention will come next.

Personally, I think this creation is unbelievable and I would probably have to see it to actually believe it. The fact that it can print an object in 3-D is crazy! I think that if this item takes off it will have a huge impact on every aspect of society. Like you said, it will have a great effect on the economy which could end up being a horrible thing. Although the advancement in technology is amazing, it could cause many people to lose their jobs. If people are losing their jobs they won’t have the money to spend to keep the economy running. That would definitely be a huge problem for economies all over the world. If the rich are making these products while others are losing their jobs, the only people left who will be able to afford these technological advances will be the rich. This technology could possibly only advance the theory that the poor are getting poorer while the rich are getting richer. The possibilities are endless when new technology is created.
ReplyDeleteAlthough this 3D printer is very expensive it is totally worth the investment. This product is going to push the bonds of creativity and will be a great tool for the home inventor. The fact that you can print anything you want with none moving parts from home is unbelievable. The only thing that I am concerned about is how much will it cost to replace the ink and how long does the ink last. If the printer is 1,300 and the gel used for the printer is expensive then it may turn away a lot of people. I was also wondering if the gel that they are using is ok to eat or drink from. If the gel is safe to eat and drink from then people can start making almost anything from home and could revolutionize the way we shop and purchase product in the upcoming future. I think that I will defiantly do more research on this and see what they are all about.
ReplyDeleteShiver this is actually the coolest blog I have ever read. It is unbelivable how fast technolgy is growing. The fact that someone can just tell the printer to print and basically it can print out a fashionable dress shoe. It actually doesn't even make sence. They dont even describe what is used in the printer to use this prodcut. It sounds like its not even real even though. Like a Star Trek type product. This idea could really propel more inventions and even better products. Also the fact that it is only 1,300 dollars is insane, because you are saving so much money on things like shoes and toys for kids or little decritive items around the house. Its a great invention that will hopeful help everyone on budget as well if you can make cheap prodcuts instead of spending more money on actually buying them. It's a revolutionary idea too, if this product sells it most likely means that there will soon be a new bigger and better products. All in all excellent work mitals
