Why Pinterest is 2012's hottest website?
Why Pinterest is 2012’s hottest website- CNN.com This article was published February 7th of 2012 by Pete Cashmore.
There are so many different social networking sites online now. I remember years ago, when I was a little kid, many of my aunts and uncles including my parents were just figuring out how to e-mail it seems. There has been a huge improvement with communicating online. First we had blogs and chat rooms. When we first developed these it was like a whole new and strange movement was beginning its process. Technology has advanced so much in the past decade. The next that I recall is MySpace. I personally never had one because I had no interest but I do remember all of my friends using one and it was the “thing” to do. Taking pictures, writing song lyrics, and posting on others walls, you could say, was very time consuming and entertaining. Today we use Facebook and Twitter along with the occasional Blog. The more advanced Blog that we use is the Tumblr and also we have Flipboard, which makes news more visual for its audience.
I personally only use Twitter and Facebook because they are the most popular and have the largest amount of followers. Facebook used to be extremely popular but now it has a competitor who seems to be taking the lead, Twitter. I find myself using Twitter much more than Facebook and I have had it longer. With Twitter you can say anything, add photos, and “tweet” at your friends and they receive it in seconds. I find Twitter more convenient than texting. Although, while Twitter and Facebook are all well and good the newest social network technology is called Pinerest. I only heard about the other day. I find it very fascinating. One reader commented, “Its becoming the great social sites now-a days And it can also helpful for bloggers too in driving traffic to their sites/blogs.” This reader has made a valid point other sites can lead people to your sites and blogs but with Pinterest you can do so much more. It is basically all of these sites like mySpace, Twitter, Facebook, and Blogger all combined with so much more. I see Pinterest as a virtual bulletin board that takes seconds to pin something up, like a photo or your personal status. I am very interested in creating my own Pinterest now. This is the new Phenomena.

Kristine, I agree with your blog! I also remember being a child, and seeing emails gradually becoming more popular, and improving over time. I remember being in middle school, and people always finding chat rooms to be involved in. As technology moved forward past chat rooms, MySpace, Facebook and twitter became the most popular social network sites on the web. Since you said you enjoyed visual things on the web, I think you’ll really be able to enjoy Pinterest. Since I am a user of it myself, I think that it can help you organize things you enjoy to do. It’s another way to be social on the interest, and it’s visually capturing, and interesting to use. Since websites like these, that are targeted to spread widely throughout as many people as possible, blogging about this website is a good way for it to gain popularity, and interest among others. You should continue you use interest; see what you discover, and spread the word about this new and upcoming social network.
