Mark Pover
My name is Mark Pover, class of 2015 at Nichols College. Currently I am a freshman and also commuting. I am an International Business major and have a minor in Leadership. I was born in Detroit, Michigan, but have lived in Sturbridge, Massachusetts since the age of seven. I live with both of my parents and have an older sister and a younger brother. My dad is also Mark Pover and he is new teaching graduate classes at Nichols as well as being a CFO. My mother Jan graduated from Yale and has been a stay at home mom since her and my dad got together. My sister is seven years older than I am and she graduated from UMass Amherst. She is now working on getting a Master's Degree out of the company she works for, Walt Disney World. My brother is 21 months to the day younger than me and is currently a junior in High School. I played soccer in High School and had to quit because of back and ankle problems. I am a huge Patriots fan, Bruins and Red Wings fan, Los Angeles Clippers fan ever since CP3 and Billups joined Blake Griffin, and a Red Sox fan. One team that is not ever to be spoken of in my house is the Ohio State Buckeyes. Recently the Buckeyes have received penalties for violating NCAA rules in many categories. Now my dad went to the University of Michigan which is why Ohio State is disliked in my house, but these penalties against OSU which include a 1-year bowl ban are absolutely unfair. USC received a two-year bowl ban, over 30 scholarships over 3 years among other sanctions because of one player, Reggie Bush. OSU got off easy and should have received three times the penalties that USC did, because six players and the coach were involved. This whole process is absolutely ridiculous though. Penalize the players, not the future teams. Players and coaches alike will violate the rules if the rules are not enforced. I have no tolerance for cheaters or organizations that don't follow their own rules.
